Trevor Corness (nostalia-nse7) is a Computer Information Security Expert based in the suburbs of Vancouver, BC Canada. He works for a Fortinet Partner deploying firewalls, switches, Wireless Access Points, WAFs, Application Delivery Controllers, SIEM and NOC/SOC products, specializing in Secure Network Access.

A Sales Engineer and Systems Engineer since 2000, Trevor has spent his career working with a diverse set of customers from SMB to Local, Provincial, and Federal Government agencies and Midsize and Enterprise customers.

Passionate about Information Security, he is one of the highest certified Fortinet Partner Engineers in Canada, currently holding all but 1 Certification level. In 2020, he is concentrating efforts on completing the Fortinet NSE level 8.

Trevor’s expertise is with Secure Access, providing both secure access to the Wired and Wireless LANs using technologies such as Network Access Control, 802.1x Authentication, as well as Secure Remote Access with multi-factor authentication for VPN and Out-of-Band access to secure Work-from-Home deployments which many companies are transitioning to as part of the Digital Transformation of the third decade of the 21st Century.

He is active in the Fortinet sub-Reddit r/Fortinet, and has participated in Fortinet’s Xtreme Team / Xperts Academy community in Canada since 2014 – an Invitation-Only event that occurs annually with anywhere from 50-100 of Canada’s top Information Security Engineers, focused on the full Fortinet product line, and training the community.
